Method Acting

Today was an amazing day! My Acting Academy class went on a trip to "So You Think You Can Dance Canada". During our trip we were giving a method acting assignment . We were each given roles by our teacher that we had to commit too. Everyone had great characters and did an amazing job. No. A stellar job. Everyone who i seen from my class had to their character established and went full force. They found their character and committed to their character. Our class was top notch. The character i had to play was a diva dancer. A know it all. I had to act as if i knew everything about dancing. I had to be blunt, rude and extra. I went to the point were i had Josh (the stage manager) come up to me and tell me that i should be a director and/or manager because of how i was acting with one of my accomplices. That right there was my ah ha! moment. As i watched people dance i started critiquing them on every single thing. Then i was surprised that the people around me who didn't even know me started agreeing with me. I wanted to laugh so hard but i knew i had to stay in character. What a day. Everyone did a fabulous job, especially the groupies and our "celebrity Mickey G" along with his entourage. I give everyone a round of applause and wish we could do this again.
