Opening Remarks And Pre-Branding

Acting Academy was something new to me. The first time I heard about acting academy was last year when it was being pitched by an arts teacher at my school. I understood that it would be a course filled with massive work, but i was still interested in joining. At first I was very nervous and several times i was thinking about sticking with comprehensive drama. Later on i decided to put my nerves aside and do what i had to. If acting is going to be my life then i knew i had to be in that class no matter what. I was really happy that i made the interview and audition. It has been almost a month since I've joined the class and like we were told it is a lot of work. I do not complain about the work because the work we are given to do is work that will help us in our post secondary. I have learned things that I've never even knew about until i came to this class. I learned what a precis is and how to do a precis. I have become better at presenting dissertations and learning how to take better notes while reading an article. Branding is also something new to me and that's what stage were at right now. I am learning as we go along and getting used to the idea of branding. I now know about look books, play bills, mission statements, vision statements for productions, creating your own website, creating your own logo and much more. This is an exciting experience and I'm glad i choose this class for my last year. I regret nothing. I expected it to be hard, stressful and frustrating. IT IS! But, it's not like that all the time. I do enjoy it and feel good about it. My class is full of talented people. This class has a lot of things coming my way and i expect my self to give it my all and keep on going beyond my limits. -Naomi Reid
